This is a decent book with lots of information with pictures. However,this book was published in 2010 and had no information on LED lights. It didn't have much information on hydroponic system either. Out of 538 pages, the book uses only 38 pages to cover basic hydroponic systems. Although some of the information can still be useful even for hydroponic growers, it felt as though this book was mainly for soil growers. I would skip this book if you are planning on LED or hydroponic system grow.

Easily the best book I've ever read on the topic. I see a lot of negative reviews and have come to the conclusion that it must depend on what you're looking for. If you're looking for "easy", this isn't it. It provides a true understanding of the botany and chemistry, as well as detailed instructions on every aspect of growing.

I was understanding that there would also be recipes in this book. But overall it's great..lots of information..great pictures and will really educate you.

I got either the first or second edition from a friend of mine while I was recovering from a car accident. I got my card and grew two outdoor plants. They were pretty decent (Northern Lights clones I think) since I just made sure they were taken care of and didn't have pests. But other then that didn't do any advanced techniques. I remembered this book recently and wanted to re-educate myself. This 3rd edition popped up and I decided to upgrade.....one hell of an up grade! The one I had, I remember it being medium thickness...I got this thing and was blown away! Flipped through it and found it lives up to the name of bible. Quick start? Got it. Indoor? Got it. History? Got it. From A-Z on how to grow, and get the best results.

Lots of information, but a lot is outdated. A ton of very technical info. Doesn't even touch on LED lights, it's well overdue for an update. It did help though

This book is organized with all the details your expecting it to provide. We loved the "how to" pages with illustrations. This book should be all you need for beginners who want to learn more. We absolutely recommend reading!

A lot of work went into producing this book. Unfortunately, it is packed with tons of useless outdated info. Latest edition has no mention of CMH lights and their performance. Most of the advanced grow methods are obsolete, ie, SOG planting. Lots of random bud pictures but not many helpful, ie, few picts showing pests and deficiencies. Lots of plant history and jargon but nothing on grow strategies for favor and weight. Looks nice on the bookshelf where it will stay.

If the state ever approves this, at least I am more knowledgeable then ever. While I running out of time, I'm prepared. Politics ….hmmm!
